Drunk Woman

I took some photos of my friends band Drunk Woman at the beginning of the month and I finally got around to editing them.

I wish I'd heard this album earlier, I would have included it in my list of best albums of the '00's...



but I hadn't, so I didn't... but I'm making an addendum to that list now. This album is awesome and I'm glad I finally heard it, if you haven't heard it definitely check it out.

When I was in high school I looked up to fine ladies such as Ani Difranco, Holly McNarland, Bif Naked, Fiona Apple, Esthero, and as any girl who went through adolescence in the 90's Courtney Love.

Then for the longest time nothing, I listened mostly to guy based tunage. I started listening to Janis Joplin, Patsy Cline and other woman artists of the past, but nothing contemporary really grabbed me. Now, over the past few years I've started listening to a bunch of awesome ladies; Martha Wainwright, Basia Bulat, Amy Millan, Feist, and of course Neko Case. I still love all my guy idols just as much, I'm just glad I have contemporary woman musicians that I can relate too, respect and be inspired by. Basically what I'm saying is;



I am inspired and I am grateful.




Speaking of inspiration, I recently had the luck to be present for a live performance of Rodrigo y Gabriela. It made me want to run home and pick up my guitar immediately.
