sweeney

/

We saw Sweeney Todd yesterday. Except for the guy in front of me who through his empty glosette raisin box over his shoulder and hit me, it was a good movie experience ( I was forced to kick his chair a couple times as a form of mild retribution).

I'd never heard of the musical before this movie came out, so I have no idea if the movie was faithful to the original idea. I did however enjoy the movie, it's not amazing but it's fun and pretty to look at. The biggest problem I had with the move was the songs, not that they were there, but that I found them boring. They weren't catchy, and they didn't seem to advance the plot, they just seemed to slow stuff down. But then again I'm not much of a musical person, The only musical I actually like is Evil Dead the Musical....

Music for the Masses

Dec 25 1983

Haven't been doing too much music stuff, just practicing. I've been laying kinda low, doing holiday things, you know...

It's kind of nice to take a break, but at the same time I don't really like it too much. I'm happy when I'm working... well not working at work, working on Lisa things. heh.

The people who live upstairs from me have this amazing gift. Whenever I want to concentrate on anything or take a nap, they play obnoxious dance music.... I don't know how they do it, but they do.

Anyway, if you're looking for something to do over the holiday season here's my advice. Do not go see The Mist, don't even consider it, rent it if you need to see it. Instead go see I am Legend, it will be a far more wiser way to spend your $12. I'm going to see Sweeney Todd tomorrow (yes I am one of those people that goes to see a movie on Christmas), I will let you know if it's any good...

Sour Pie

Dear Fellow Last Minute Christmas Shoppers;

I don't want to be at the mall, you don't want to be at the mall, please make all of our lives just THAT much easier by NOT stopping right at the top of the escalator. You know the mall is busy, you know that there are several people behind you, where do you think we are going to go when you stop right at the top of the escalator? and why do you look surprised and slightly insulted when i say excuse me?

I was reminded of a slightly amusing story earlier this evening as I was showing off my hot new flannel pajamas to my roommate. When I was younger I used to harass my parents every Christmas eve to let me open a present. They let me open just one present one year, but it had to be a small one, I was so excited, bursting with glee really. All my hard work, so much nagging led up to this one moment of glory! I ripped open the package to find..... batteries... yay!?..... *sigh* The batteries went with something, but I had to wait until the next day to find out what. I don't think I asked to open a present early the next year. At least my parents had a good laugh...

yuppers

So I was thinking, that a leaky kitchen ceiling is better than a leaky bathroom ceiling. The leaky kitchen ceiling is inconveniencing us in that we have to microwave things on the other side of the room. However, last year at my old place the leaky bathroom ceiling inconvenienced me in that I couldn't use the toilette. Well, I could use the toilette, I'd just have water dripping on me the whole time. no thanks....

torontoindie.com interview

check it out!

Of course I do feel a little lame due to the first question, one too many 'they's' and not enough 'my parent's''.

but whatever, YAY! nonetheless.

the bad day continues....

I had high hopes for today I really did, I thought the bad day would end when yesterday was over, apparently I was wrong.

Now, I forgot to mention our crumby breakfast experience yesterday. And in case you are not aware my boyfriend and I are brunch fans, we enjoy a good Sunday morning brunch as often as our pockets will allow. Yesterday we slept in too late to go to any of our usual places, we both didn't feel like having anything sweet so cafe crepe was out of the question. We settled on Tequila Bookworm. If you like soggy eggs, small portions, lukewarm coffe and overpriced food, this place is for you! Unfortunately I didn't document the soggy state of the eggs, so you're just gonna have to trust me on this one. Soggyness.... water underneath and all. yuck central. The juice was good though, if you have to go there try the juice.

The day started off lame with a soggy egg breakfast and continued on with my show getting canceled due to snow, me running out of ink for Christmas present pictures and my computer getting a virus. yay! The fun continued today with work (barf) and coming home to a leaky kitchen ceiling. yay again!

I think I'm just going to hide in my room for the rest of the day.... or what's left of it anyway :P

the snow that ruined the show...

My gig tonight was canceled due to the snow, the owner of the bar wasn't able to make it into Toronto to open the bar. *sigh* So here I sit in my cozy pants, in front of the computer trying to finish an email interview for torontoindie.com and making this blog post at the same time....
